Tea Tree and Blue Mallee Eucalyptus oils are both wonderful remedial oils for a range of ailments and problems.
These two foundation oils have been used for centuries in aromatherapy and known widely by those who enjoy the benefits of essential oils thanks to their notable antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties – no essential oil collection is complete without them.
ETTO’s pure Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifola) and Blue Mallee Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus polybractea) oils are of the highest-grade quality. Grown and steam extracted in Australia on ETTO owned farms, no one else touches our oils from leaf to bottle, soil to oil, they are completely pure and unadulterated. Grown to meticulous standards and for the intention of having medicinal benefits, both oils contain high concentrations of their key bioactive component terpinen-4-ol (Tea tree) and 1,8-cineole (eucalyptus). We grow Eucalyptus polybractea instead of Eucalyptus globulus or radiata, for polybractea has a superior cineole content and the smell is next level beautiful.Â
We don't import pine oil and pretend it's eucalyptus. We don't import tea tree and label it as Australian. We don't use oil that is a by-product of the paper bark industry. We don't dilute or adulterate our oil. What we do is grow and steam extract the world's purest medicinal-grade oils right here on our Australian farms. Â
When putting anything on our body, when inhaling an oil for the purpose of respiratory health, we want to ensure that it is pure, medicinal, is what it says it is and will do what it says it will do. Are the essential oils you are using 100% pure? Can the supplier guarantee it hasn’t been adulterated with a cheaper less efficacious oil?
So now you know you have ETTO’s oils, potent and pure, how do you use them? Which oil is best for what ailments?

Which carrier oil should I use for my skin type?
Adding your oils to a carrier oil is the perfect way to blend them (most essential oils are better added to your skin with some dilution) and aid the delivery in how you want to use them, whether it's for a scalp treatment or healing body oil.Â
Carrier oils can be purchased from many wholefood or natural organic stores online and start at very reasonable prices. These form the base in many skincare products on the market so you will be saving money making your own very simple recipe mixing only two things.Â
We recommend choosing virgin cold pressed and organic where you can. And if you are choosing coconut oil, remember look for a fractionated option so it won’t clog your pores or cause breakouts if that is a concern for you.
Below is a basic list of our favourite carrier oil and tips for which ones are best for different skin types.Â
Carrier oil guide:
Jojoba – ideal for eczema and contains anti-inflammatory compounds that may help with itchiness and dryness. Jojoba is non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts and is ideal for breakout, acne & rosacea prone skin. Good for oily and combination skin. Light and absorbs well.
Macadamia – non-comedogenic so won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. Best for mature, dry skin or sensitive skin. Very hydrating, a lush oil thicker than others yet still absorbs well, creates a natural protective barrier.
Coconut - to be non-comedogenic coconut oil must be fractionated. It is ideal for skin and wound repair has anti-inflammatory properties, provides hydration and a protective barrier. Coconut oil will go hard in the cooler weather.
Sweet almond oil – gentle and suitable for sensitive, irritated and dry skin. It is non-comedogenic so suitable for breakout prone skin. Ideal for scars, stretch marks, redness and psoriasis.
Plant glycerin – typical derived from coconut oil, is ideal for strengthening the skin barrier, soothing irritated skin and improving skin texture. Hydrating and smoothing. Suitable for most skin types particularly for eczema, acne prone and sensitive skin.
So choose you carrier oil, add Tea Tree or Eucalyptus based on what you are treating and, voila! Your own therapeutic, clean, all natural remedy!
