Why does the Pure Oil Spray contain butane?

To keep the formula as pure and plant-led as possible, we chose an aerosol format that lets the spray come out as a dry, ultra-fine mist. That’s why we use a small amount of butane and propane as propellants, they simply help deliver the product, then evaporate instantly, leaving only our ingredients on the skin. They’re considered safe for topical use, are environmentally suitable and are very different from old-style CFCs, .

This format also means the spray can be used on skin, feet, fabrics, shoes and everyday surfaces without leaving a wet or oily film. Our aluminium can is fully and infinitely recyclable, keeping the packaging aligned with our environmental values.

Inside, the ingredients remain true to nature: our Tea Tree and Blue Mallee Eucalyptus oils are 100% pure, steam-extracted on our farms, and never blended with fillers, solvents or synthetic fragrance. We keep formulas as natural as possible, and when a preservative is needed for product safety, we choose options recognised as gentle and low-hazard at very small percentages.

Can I use this spray directly on my skin?

Yes, it’s designed as a spray to use on skin instead of iodine or chloroxylenol. The formula is made with a naturally derived alcohol (from sugar cane) and a high concentration of our pure, steam-extracted Tea Tree and Blue Mallee Eucalyptus oils. Tea Tree and Eucalyptus oils are well known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. These botanicals are known for their refreshing, skin-cleansing properties, making the spray ideal for everyday use for skin and ideal as a quick, on-the-go option to cleanse and refresh hands when water isn’t available. It is also ideal as a DEET free insect deterrent. The mist goes on dry and weightless, with no sticky or oily residue, leaving the skin feeling fresh and lightly herbaceous. Why does Tea Tree Oil work well in a balm like this?
