We believe when we are inhaling or putting something on and into our body, it needs to be pure and we need to trust its origins. 90% of eucalyptus in Australia is imported and is often a by-product of the paper industry and extracted using chemicals and solvents.

We grow and steam our Blue Mallee on our Western Australian farm from high grade plants intentionally grown as a remedial oil. The cineole component is therefore much higher and we don’t need to mess with the natural symbiosis of the oil, so it comes to you just as nature intended.

- Potent Formula: 84% concentration of 1,8-cineole for maximum effectiveness

- Soil to Oil: ETTO oversees cultivation, distillation, and bottling on our own Australian farms.

Pure, UNADULTERATED Blue Mallee Eucalyptus Oil

  • Source origin: Eucalyptus is native to Australia, yet around 90% of Eucalyptus Oil we buy and use in products comes from elsewhere. ETTO is bringing Eucalyptus back home. We set out to re-green the north west corridor and so far, we have planted over 1.6 million Blue Mallee Eucalyptus trees, and counting, on our farm on Wajarri country, Western Australia.
  • Distillation: We gently extract our oil the traditional way by using steam so no alcohol is used, producing an oil with a superior quality & fragrance. Our Eucalyptus is unadulterated & you can be sure you are getting 100% pure Blue Mallee Eucalyptus oil. It is verdant, fresh, with a slight spicy note and softer than typical Eucalyptus.
  • Key properties: Research has identified Eucalyptus as having antibacterial, decongestant, anti-fungal, & pain relieving properties. The main naturally occurring component of Blue Mallee Eucalyptus is cineole which research has demonstrated has anti-inflammatory properties. ETTO oil contains 84% cineole compared to the commonly used Eucalyptus globulus which only contains 60%.
  • Storage: Eucalyptus oil needs to be protected from light & air to stay potent & fresh. Our bespoke glass is shaded black to block the light. We recommend storing it away from sunlight in a cool dry place.

Product FAQS

What makes Blue Mallee Eucalyptus Oil different from regular eucalyptus oil?

Not all eucalyptus oils are the same. ETTO’s Blue Mallee Eucalyptus Oil is distilled from Eucalyptus polybractea, a variety known for its exceptionally high cineole content. Our oil contains 60-84% 1,8-cineole, the naturally occurring bioactive responsible for eucalyptus’ fresh aroma and traditional remedial use. Many generic eucalyptus oils are made from different species, often with much lower cineole levels and inconsistent quality. 90% Oof eucalyptus oil sold in Australia comes from China or Brazil as a by-product of the paper industry and is extracted using chemcials or alcohols and often diluted with cheaper pine oil. ETTO grows Blue Mallee with the intention of using it for its medicinal properties so we start with high grade plants that produce high grade oil that is extracted without chemicals to retain purity and potency.

Why is this oil more expensive than eucalyptus oil from the supermarket?

This is one of our most asked questions. The short answer is: how and why the oil is grown and extracted matters. Our bottles are also much larger at 50mL, so often when we calculate per 10mL and compare to other brands, ours is very reasonably priced considering that:

Most supermarket eucalyptus oils are:

Imported (despite being sold in Australia)

A by-product of the paper or timber industry

Extracted using chemical solvents

Blended or standardised for aroma rather than potency

ETTO’s Blue Mallee oil is different. We:

Grow high-grade Blue Mallee trees specifically for remedial oil

Steam-distil the leaves on our Western Australian farm

Oversee the entire process from soil to oil

Never dilute, blend or chemically extract the oil

This results in a purer, more potent oil with a naturally higher cineole level, which takes more time, care and resources to produce, and that’s reflected in the price.

What does “high cineole” actually mean for me?

Cineole (1,8-cineole) is the primary bioactive compound found in eucalyptus oil. A higher cineole content means the oil has a stronger, clearer aroma and is traditionally favoured for inhalation, topical blends and household use. ETTO’s Blue Mallee is naturally high in cineole because of the species selected and the way it’s grown and distilled, not because it has been altered after extraction.

Who is this oil best for?

This oil is ideal for people who:

Care about purity and provenance

Want a high-cineole eucalyptus oil

Prefer Australian-grown, farm-managed oils

Use essential oils for skin care, inhalation or home rituals

Want an alternative to low-grade, mass-produced oils

Can I use this oil for inhalation or congestion support?

Yes. This oil is commonly used in diffusers, steam inhalation or shower steam to create a fresh, clarifying environment. Its naturally invigorating aroma makes it popular during seasonal congestion or when the air feels heavy. Always follow safe dilution guidelines and avoid direct contact with eyes or mucous membranes.

Does this oil contain anything other than eucalyptus?

No. This is a 100% pure, undiluted essential oil with no fillers, carrier oils or synthetic additives. What you smell and use is exactly what’s been steam-distilled from our Blue Mallee leaves.
